I couldn’t just believe that I am now a law student. It was really a dream came true. Entering in Law School is such a privilege that is incomparable to any achievements that a person would have in her entire life. I did expect that Law school is a tough one, that will consume almost of my time reading, doing some case digests and a lot more Law stuffs. These expectations were somewhat a reality but a truly exciting experience.
Some people commented that, why did I study again? Why just not concentrate in my career so that I can help my family since we are financially unstable. And that Law school thing is actually expensive that is impossible to finish until the last phase of it. Others would tell me that, Law course is too long and just a waste of money since I will spend a lot of my income on it and a waste of time. Yes, reality check; it would really take me some years to complete this course and indeed, it would give me a lot of hardships especially in financial aspect. It would also challenge my intellectual capacity as well as my emotional and mental strengths until the end of this battle that I’ve engaged with.
When I decided to pursue a law degree, I’ve already admitted that this thing is not easy. I’ve also considered that unavoidable circumstances will come into my way that will challenge my patience, thinking ability and my so-called F-a-i-t-h. I am absolutely correct! Challenges are now here and everywhere and they’re trying to squeeze and bother me. Sometimes, while I’m in the middle of these challenges, I tend to give up. I would try to ignore and would not pay attention to those important things since they always giving me a hard time and then would not allow me to relax and pamper myself after some busy days at work. I’m pertaining to my school agenda such as recitations, quizzes and the most dreadful moments, Examination Days. But here I am, standing still and embracing all the possibilities that might happen as I go along with my journey in law school. Working and studying at the same time is quite hard. But I believe that nothing is impossible to a person who is willing to do her best to excel in these two major activities in her life. And all things would be possible when you allow God to help you to achieve your goals. That’s what I am doing now, allowing God to direct my path and letting him to make things better for me.
Few more months and I can say that, I’ve already conquered half of the battle. I’m getting used to the usual activities of a law student. The case digests thing, review sessions and “aral mode” before and after office hours. I can say that, law school is fun, very challenging and apparently a motivating course. When we had our orientation during our first day of class last May 2009, most of the professors said that,”three to four months of your stay here in law school would definitely change YOU! The way you speak, the way you interact with people and the way you think. Law school is great! You should just know how to handle it.” These statements were stored in my mind and believe it or not, these things were true! I was able to practice and get conscious on how I speak and interact with people and share my point of views. I also developed my analytical thinking and learned how to deal with different situations that crossed my path. But I know that there are a lot more things that I need to face as I continue my undertakings in law school. A piece of motivation from my family and friends plus faith in God will surely give me the strengths that I need, to finished this until the perfect time to take the BAR EXAMS.
